Pamela Alboher-Ray, Ph.D. Certified Clinical Nutritionist
38 years experience
Consultation Options:
Completed Applications are required before any consultations are scheduled, and are required for all new clients and clients whose last appointment is more than 12 months ago. Dr. Alboher-Ray handles no insurance matters for appointments.
If you are interested in a in office, phone, or email consultation please use the contact button on this site and to relay your inquiry. Please include information about what specific help you are looking for and an application may be then forwarded to you.
In Office Appointments:
For the very best outcomes Dr. Alboher-Ray recommends several appointments, QRA testing, and electro-acupuncture. Pamela first schedules appointments with people who are referred to her either by another practitioner, another client, or one of the staff working at North Star Health. Please put a name in the referral line of the application. Once the application is received it will be reviewed and you will be contacted about Pamela’s availability. An in person consultation allows Pamela to do a QRA evaluation with patented O-Ring testing to more adeptly determine your specific supplemental requirements. QRA is the most effective testing she has found to date. Most appointments include some bodywork.
In Office QRA Testing
QRA Testing: 1st appointment is approx 60-90 minutes. (Sometimes Children take less time) Follow-ups are 30-60 minutes. With the application a 7 day diet log is required. You may be given questionnaires to fill in before appointment. Also knowing your blood type is helpful. North Star sells blood testing kits and pH paper. Foundation Option to help get you started: If the foundation program a person is following is inadequate a program can be written for client to follow until their appointment time. Iridology Evaluation is usually done as part of in office QRA appointments, as well as Bi-Digital O-Ring Muscle Testing. These evaluations help reveal each persons unique requirements and enhance our ability to personalize each program design. A current blood chemistry result is also helpful. Clients can get them from their doctor and have results forwarded to our office. Bodywork and Electro-Acupuncture (ETPS) is also often done in these appointments.
Other Appointments
“Ask the Expert” Nutrition Consultation Appointments: Applications are filled out ahead of appointments. Minimum in office consult is 30 minutes. Phone and email consultations are also available after application process. The fees for the session are based on time spent. Wild Flower Foray
Greetings, I love spring and one of my favorite events in the spring is the Wildflower Foray down in Brown County. I have lead the medicinal walks there in many of the past years. I will not be teaching this year and I do plan to go to and participate. This year it is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday April 22, 23, and 24. One of the goals for the weekend is to count all the wildflowers, and they are quite glorious to see.
Go to their website and you will find the brochure for this year. All the events are free of charge and attract many of the wonderful people who care take our local parks and i believe is sponsored by the DNR. Walking in nature down in beautiful brown county is such a treat with like minded lovers of nature. My favorite walk is with Tom Swinford in the TC Steele property near Nashville which is 9am and 1pm on Friday.
Hope to see you there. Sincerely, Pamela Alboher-Ray
Every nature lover will find something to enjoy during the 25th annual Wildflower Foray: wildflower and bird walks, a Lake Monroe boat trip, history, owl calling, nature photography, medicinal plants, and a geocache-style “treasure hunt.” Experience the sights and sounds of spring in the forests of southern Indiana.

ETPS Electro Acupuncture
ETPS: Endorphins – Nature’s Pain Relievers
The human body has a bio-energy flow along 12 main meridians, being related to specific organs and systems. Research can well document classical acupuncture points on these meridians have a close nerve correlation in the body. It is also well known that acupuncture, trigger, and motor points display a lower electrical resistance in relation to their surrounding skin. Therefore, all these therapeutic points may be electrically detected on the skin’s surface with a great deal of accuracy using electrical point finders such as ETPS that measure variances in skin resistance.
When one examines the acupuncture “channels” or “meridians” and compares them to nerve pathways – called dermatomes – there is obviously a very high correlation. Close examination of an acupuncture chart also shows channels starting from the neck and lower back and traveling down the arms and legs. This is quite an astounding comparison since nerves were not formally “discovered” or traced until thousands of years after acupuncture meridians had been used. In the mid 1970s, it was scientifically discovered that naturally occurring pain relieving opiates, called endorphins, could be released with acupuncture needling and electro-acupuncture stimulation of specific low frequency. These natural pain relievers circulate and assist in relieving pain and speeding up the healing process.
ETPS stands for Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation, a non-invasive therapy that applies concentrated, low frequency, DC stimulation to special combinations of acupuncture points, triggers points, and contracted motor bands. By integrating Eastern and Western approaches, and applying this specialized form of acupuncture stimulation, you get a really nice approach to pain management that helps a lot of people find relief.
ETPSSM has been a remarkable success in helping relieve chronic pain. The results are so impressive using this approach, that complete or substantial relief from pain may often occur in the first or second treatment. Most clients require 2-10 treatments for lasting results, with some chronic clients requiring ongoing treatments in the home setting. ETPSSM can be individualized to any client’s needs and applied non-invasively in almost any setting, indoor or out, usually within 5-15 minutes. ETPSSM stimulation is significantly effective. Pamela Alboher-Ray is certified by the State of Indiana in Massage Therapy, and has trained with ETPS since 2005. She has attended 7 trainings 3 of which were with the founder of ETPS, Bruce Hocking, Doctor of Acupuncture, MDMA, who has won international awards with his expertise with acupuncture. A body of research indicates that micro-currents can help “switch on” or accelerate cellular healing mechanisms. Micro-current therapy, especially through point-specific probe treatments, has an effect similar to acupuncture.
Dr. Pamela’s Body Work Sessions can incorporate energy body work, ETPS, Reflexology, Thai Medical Massage, Energy Body Work, and Aromatherapy. Many people report feeling good and reduced pain at the end of their session and the activation of energy circuits keeps on working long after the session is completed.
