Dr. Pamela’s Flu - Immune Support

To enhance immune and overall fitness, follow a whole foods diet, abundant in plant-based foods high in vitamins A and C (yellow/orange vegetables and broccoli). Make sure to start your day with 25 grams of protein for breakfast. Drink 64-100 oz. of clean, purified water each day for hydration, as this helps our systems distribute valuable nutrients while flushing out germs and toxins. For extra flavor in water, put a piece of fresh or dried fruit in your water and add Low Sodium Concentrate (trace minerals from the Great Salt Lake). Herbal teas are also helpful. Warm water with lemon, a dash of maple syrup and cayenne are summer and winter favorites. Make a large pot of vegetable soup to eat throughout the week. Add many veggies to each meal including green vegetables, onion & garlic (which are great cold fighters). Make sure to keep the bowels moving, possibly using herbs, extra Vitamin C, magnesium or prune juice. Be sure to get plenty of rest and relaxation since chronic stress and sleep deprivation are both known to reduce immunity. AdrenVen, Magnesium, and Vitamin B complex can help with stress and sleep. Research shows people who engage in 10 minutes of mindfulness techniques like gentle yoga and meditation have lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol (experts say when high we are more vulnerable to getting sick) . Wash hands often and wipe down counter tops with water mixed in a spray bottle with a dash of lemon, lavender, eucalyptus, or Antiseptic-Thieves Blend essential oils. When a cold or flu strikes, act fast, eat light and pick some of the options below as viruses replicate within the first 48 hours of symptoms. Routinely take Probiotics for an added immune boost. Pick brands with 8+ strains. Sunlight can affect mood so make sure to get outside, especially in the winter. Take a walk outdoors in the morning for 30 minutes.

My favorites that I always keep on hand are:

Vitamin D: In his book, The Vitamin D Solution, Michael Holick, PhD, MD, author and vitamin D researcher, recommends Vitamin D3 helps with immune boosting. Get your levels tested.

Immunoven: Contains Olive Leaf & Reishi which are very effective in fighting bacteria & virus. Great Immune Booster.
NAC: N-acetyl-L-cysteine inhibits virus replication and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, which are helpful.

HCL Caps: Take 1-3 with each meal. It aids digestion and keeps the digestive track clean.

Allicidin: Special type of garlic for powerful, broad spectrum immune-specific support. Take 1 vcap, 1 to 2 times daily. For special programs, take up to 3 vcaps, 4 times per day. Premier has a liquid Garlic and Cayenne that is also helpful- Cardio-ND

Garlic: I cut fresh garlic and add to foods routinely. Chop 1 clove in fine pieces and swallow.
Nucleo Immune: Promotes Instantaneous Immune Boost and Increased Vitality. It will stop a cold and accelerate rapid cellular rejuvenation in times of illness or injury proven by Swiss research. At the onset of a cold I take 5 caps 4-5 times per day for 1.5 days. I always have a bottle available!! I use Nucleo Immune and Allicidin together, since I feel it is more potent.

Wellness Formula: A very popular immune formula. This formula addresses body systems, not just symptoms. Take 1 or 2 a day for maintenance or higher doses at the first signs of illness. Available in tablets or chewable.
Vitamins C: Is both preventative and therapeutic. Most people take some daily for health. Start with 500-1,000mg and repeat as needed to bowel tolerance. Reduce Vit C when bowels get loose. Vitamin C is generally easily tolerated by most people and can shorten the duration of a cold/flu.

Hydrogen Peroxide: Use a 3% solution from the drug store. Put ½ capful in ears (you will hear some sizzling). Great research dating back to the 30’s where viruses may enter through the ear canal. Ear candles-2 in each ear 4x per year (once every season) will help keep ear canals clean.

Lomatium: This anti-viral/anti-bacterial herb has properties to treat most of today’s difficult viral diseases. Can be helpful for Hepatitis-C, Influenza, Chronic-fatigue, Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Herpes simplex, Mono, Sinusitis, and the Common Cold (especially upper respiratory). We have it in a tincture and in a blend called Anti-V. Take 3-20 drops of the straight extract daily as prevention if you begin feeling run down or if cold symptoms appear. If sick, take a dose several times a day.
Agrisept: Anti-viral/anti-bacterial extract that is derived from citrus seeds. Always great to have this on hand.

Elderberry: A syrup which tastes great and is easy to get kids to take. Take 1-2 tsp up to 4x daily. This can shorten the severity and duration of the flu. We have various kinds in liquid or pill.

Olive Leaf and Colostrum: Sold separately and also in a formula. You can open the Colostrum capsules and give the powder to children mixed in apple sauce. It tastes sweet and is usually easily tolerated by everyone. I use Colostrum in same doses as

Colostrum: Contains immunoglobulins which support the immune system. Can also be helpful for Athletic repair.

Antiseptic-Thieves Blend: External Use Only!! A blend of essential oils that have been used since the 15th century to ward off contagious diseases. Use as a preventative or active cases of colds/flu. Dilute the concentrated form-1 drop/ 1 tsp of carrier oil (olive, almond, grapeseed). Rub diluted on feet, hands, or over thymus. This can be used on adults and children. Be careful not to get in your eyes. Apply with a cotton ball if necessary.
Ice Chips: Contain xylitol which helps keep the mouth at a neutral pH and this helps defeat bacteria and viruses. The best flavors for cold/flu are menthol/eucalyptus (which helps with that post nasal drip and cough) and clove (an antiseptic).

These are my favorite products. Remember to have these at home so you can take them at the first signs of illness.
