Auricular Therapy is reflexology on the ears and is natural approach to optimize your wellbeing, and easily complements any health program. Did you know that the ear is a complete, specialized system used in Acupuncture? The ear contains a micro-system of the entire body and is easily accessible by the practitioner for both assessment and treatment. There are over 200 points on the ear that correspond to different points on the body, both for physical and emotional health. Activating ear points is safe and easy and gentle, and is very effectively and quickly eliciting a therapeutic response in another area in the body. Activation of points helps restore energy alignment promoting relaxation, a feeling a being grounded, a positive mental focus, and a reduction in pain. Stimulation of these precious ear points is gently applied on the surface of the ear to stimulate the body’s production of endorphins-the ‘feel good neuropeptides and this ear map acts like a mother switchboard signaling our brains to relay signals and support to our vital organ systems for gentle and natural rejuvenation from our modern day lifestyles that can tax our systems and health.
While some Auricular Therapy is done by acupuncturists using needles, Dr. Pam’s uses all non-needle techniques, with excellent results using pressure with a small probe, micro-current, laser, and ear seeds. She
easily identifies which ear points to activate and treats with ear seeds, lasers, and micro- stimulation or a combination of these modalities. She has participated in thousands of hours in continuing education both in nutrition and bodywork, since beginning her practice and her health center North Star Health in 1974. She has been using micro-current acupuncture since 2005, and is licensed by the State of Indiana in Massage Therapy as well as holding a Ph.D. in Clinical Nutrition since 1984.
Auricular Therapy was invented by Dr. Paul Nogier, a French neurologist, publishing his results in 1957, and in 1990, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Auricular Therapy is , “probably the most developed and best documented, scientifically, of all the micro-systems of acupuncture and is the most practical and widely used. “ Auricular Therapy is a natural complement to many types of health care practices. More than 150 conditions have been identified that can be helped with Auricular Therapy. Some of the common ones are: Weight Loss, Headaches, Migraines, Back Pain, Sciatica, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Stop Smoking, Insomnia, Vision Health, Libido, PTSD, Fertility, Lactation, Menopause, Motion Sickness, Allergies, Hemorrhoids, Arthritis Pain, PMS, and much More.
